Home Care Remedial Exercises

Working the home care exercises excessively, will not bring you faster and closer to your goal.
Most of the time it will actually aggravate your injury, thus it will delay the arrival to your destination.
Stick to the number that your therapist suggested. Don’t do more and don’t do less.
Give your body at least the same amount of time to heal as you spent getting injured.

GERIATRIC MASSAGE

 

Some of us are blessed to have our grandparents or even great grandparents around.
My experience with geriatric massage proves that all of them enjoy the gentle touch, the active listening, and the words of kindness.
They have so many stories filled with wisdom they need to share with us.
I’ve noticed that most of the time, their biggest joy is that they get to tell the story to someone that cares.

The word “geriatric” in medicine, refers to health impairments that are associated with
the later years of life, usually age 65 and older.
Geriatric Massage takes age-related health conditions , including serious illnesses, into account.
However healthy elderly populations also have special considerations such as the thinning of the
skin, increased bruising and others.
Elderly clients sometimes can not usually lie flat on the massage table or turn over easily.
During my college courses, learning to massage with these special needs was part of the curriculum.
In fact I completed hands-on courses during specialty clinics in a nursing home,
where I had to massage elderly, ill or impaired people in their own bed.
Fortunately geriatric clients also can be very healthy and active adults who just want to
use massage to keep them that way.
